The Procedure

What Is Lipo 360?

Lipo 360 (also called circumferential liposuction) removes stubborn fat from the full circumference of your torso in one procedure: front, sides, and back at once. Unlike spot liposuction, the 360° approach creates smooth, seamless transitions and a balanced silhouette from every angle. Most patients return to light activity within two weeks.

Your Investment

How Much Does Lipo 360 Cost in Colombia?

Your price depends on how many areas are treated, your anatomy and surgical time, and whether you add a BBL or a tummy tuck. Dr. Delgado confirms it in writing after your consultation. See the 2026 reference prices and a side-by-side U.S. comparison in our cosmetic surgery investment guide.

You receive your written quote and pre-op instructions. If you smoke or vape, stop at least 4 weeks before and after surgery.

3 • Flying in

Where you’ll be cared for

Your procedure takes place at InterQuirófanos, a surgical center accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), with hospital-grade operating rooms with a dedicated anesthesiology team, held to international safety standards. Consultation and post-op care are handled nearby in El Poblado.

Bring a companion. An adult needs to stay with you for the first days after surgery. Our team helps coordinate airport transfers and hotel recommendations near the clinic. More on how long to stay in Medellín.

Recovery

Lipo 360 Recovery Timeline

You’ll walk the same day, return to basic activities in about a week and to desk work in 2–3 weeks. Your final contour shows at 4 to 6 months. Swelling often gets worse before it gets better; that’s expected.

WhenWhat to expect
Week 1Rest, short walks and your compression garment • first check-up with Dr. Delgado
Weeks 2–3Swelling goes down gradually • back to desk work
Weeks 4–6Gradual return to walking and light exercise • your shape starts to show
Months 4–6Final result

Seeing Medellín while you recover: once you feel up to it, a slow walk around El Poblado or a quiet café is fine. Save Guatapé, the Metrocable or Comuna 13 for later, or come a few days early and see them before surgery. Long rides, hikes, sun and pools wait until Dr. Delgado clears you.

Dr. Delgado adjusts this plan to your case during your consultation.

Safety First

How to Choose a Lipo 360 Surgeon in Colombia

Safety comes from the surgeon and the facility, not the country. Choose a surgeon you can verify, not the lowest quote. Before you book anywhere in Colombia, check four things:

  1. Is the surgeon a plastic surgeon? Search their name in ReTHUS, Colombia’s official registry of health professionals. It shows their specialty.
  2. Are they a member of the SCCP (Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery)?
  3. Where will you be operated on? A licensed surgical center with a specialist anesthesiologist, not an office.
  4. Who follows up with you once you’re back home?

JCI-accredited facility & anesthesia

Surgery is performed at InterQuirófanos, accredited by Joint Commission International, with a specialist anesthesiologist present. Never in an office or improvised "clinic" setting.

A plastic surgeon you can verify

Dr. Delgado is registered as a plastic surgeon in ReTHUS, is a member of the SCCP and an International Member of the ASPS. Here’s how to verify a plastic surgeon’s credentials.

Structured post-op care

Compression garment, post-op care at Clínica Be Dharma from the day after surgery, and check-ups before you fly, with clear written aftercare instructions for home.

Support after you go home

Your recovery doesn’t end at the airport. The team stays reachable for questions and remote follow-up once you’re back in the U.S. or Canada.

Questions From U.S. & Canadian Patients

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to fly home after Lipo 360?
Most patients are cleared to fly 5–7 days after surgery, once they’re off prescription pain medication and comfortable sitting for longer periods. We schedule your return flight with this window in mind and review it at your post-op check before you leave.
Will my insurance cover it?
Lipo 360 is an elective cosmetic procedure, so it isn’t covered by insurance in the U.S., Canada, or Colombia. Because you pay out of pocket, compare what each quote includes, not just the total.
What if I have a complication once I’m back home?
You’ll leave with written aftercare instructions and a direct line to our team for remote follow-up. Significant complications are uncommon when post-op care is followed, but if a concern arises, Dr. Delgado’s team helps you assess it and coordinate care, and remains available for questions throughout your recovery.
How many days should I plan to stay in Colombia?
Plan for about 8–10 days from arrival to flying home. That covers your in-person pre-op assessment, surgery, the critical early recovery days, and a final check-up. Some patients choose to stay two weeks for extra comfort.
How much weight will I lose?
Lipo 360 is a body-sculpting procedure, not a weight-loss procedure. The fat removed usually weighs between 2 and 5 kg (about 4–11 lb), and the dramatic change is in your shape and waistline, not the number on the scale. For best results, be near your goal weight before surgery.
Lipo 360 or BBL: what’s the difference, and can I combine them?
Lipo 360 removes fat around your whole midsection; a BBL transfers that fat to your buttocks. Many patients combine both (see our BBL page), and some also add a tummy tuck to address loose skin and muscle separation. After pregnancy, that combination is often part of a mommy makeover. Dr. Delgado will recommend the safest plan for your goals during your consultation.
How do I get a price and get started?
Book a private virtual consultation with Dr. Delgado. He’ll review your goals and photos, confirm your candidacy, and provide a personalized quote. Every plan is tailored to your anatomy. For 2026 reference prices, see our investment guide.
What are the risks of Lipo 360?
Like any surgery, Lipo 360 has risks, including fluid buildup (seroma), contour irregularities, prolonged swelling, infection, changes in skin sensation and, rarely, blood clots. Dr. Delgado reviews your personal risk in consultation; not smoking, wearing your garment and attending every check-up lower it. Wondering about pain? Read what to expect after liposuction.
Who is not a good candidate for Lipo 360?
Lipo 360 isn’t for you if you’re looking to lose weight, have uncontrolled diabetes, a clotting disorder or active heart disease, or can’t stop smoking for at least 4 weeks before and after surgery. If you have a lot of loose skin, a tummy tuck may be part of your plan.
Is Medellín safe for medical tourists?
Your clinic, surgical center and recommended hotels are all in El Poblado, one of the most visited areas of the city. Use the usual precautions: registered taxis or ride apps, keep valuables out of sight, and check your government’s current travel advice before you book.
